Monash Certificate in Clinical Occupational Medicine

For occupational medicine trainees, GPs and other medical practitioners who assess and manage patients with work-related problems

To be held in Melbourne from June 7th to 11th 2010.

Aims and objectives

To provide medical practitioners with the knowledge and skills to:

  • Diagnose and manage common occupational injuries & diseases
  • Document and investigate complex and less common problems in occupational medicine
  • Perform a medical assessment, including history and examination, aimed at pre-placement, medical surveillance or return to work
  • Write a medicolegal report

Coordinator and teaching staff

Dr David Fish MBBS, FAFOEM, FAFPHM is an Occupational Physician with extensive experience in industry, government and private practice, a Fellow of the Australasian Faculty Occupational and Environmental Medicine (AFOEM), and a former President of AFOEM.

Registration and course information

  • Cost: $1,980 (incl GST). Download the flyer and registration form (pdf). Please note, enrolments will be capped at 30. The deadline for registration is Friday 30th April 2010.

  • Assessment: A certificate of completion will awarded to those who pass the compulsory assessment at the end of the course.
  • Points: AFOEM MOPS points and RACGP accreditation are being applied for.
  • Venue: The Australian & New Zealand College of Anaesthetists, St Kilda Road, Melbourne.
  • Accommodation: Details of accommodation close to the course venue will be posted shortly.
